You don’t need an obscene range of different glasses to ensure the perfect wine enjoyment, however, there are a few basic rules to observe:

Champagnes and sparkling wines
Discover the full range of aromas of the finest champagnes and sparkling wines in a white wine glass. Although a champagne coupe may look cute and retro, the wine loses its carbon dioxide and aromas far too quickly. A champagne flute enables sparkling wines to show off their bubbles but the small opening means that it is very hard to perceive the full range of aromas. Our tip: Give your champagne some room and enjoy it in a white wine glass that is slightly rounded and with a large enough opening. This will enable the sparkling wine to show off its full range of aromas.

Red, white, rosé: One glass for three types of wine
Enjoy white and rosé, as well as fresh, fairly minimalist red wines with full fruity aromas, in a medium-sized glass with a slight bulbousness to the middle of the glass. This slightly rounded form helps to concentrate the fruity aromas and enables them to come up to the glass’s opening.

Enjoying aged red and white wines
Aged red wines and white wines that have been aged in oak are best enjoyed in larger glasses. As the saying goes: bigger glasses for bigger wines. In these glasses, the wine has maximum contact with the oxygen in the air, enabling it to unfold its aromas to perfection.
